Bo needs: Meet Bo, a 3-year-old male Bichon mix just under 9 pounds. Bo was an owner surrender as his family was unable to care for him. He has been quite the spoiled little boy in his life and likely not exposed to many different experiences as a puppy. He gets pretty attached to his human and prefers to be nearby most of the time. He may exhibit some separation anxiety until he adjusts to his new home. He can get upset when left alone, vocal at times, but he has shown great improvement with this while in foster care. He is not a fan of being confined and needs continued work with a crate or expen.

He loves attention and cuddling in your lap, nearby on the couch or in a dog bed. He gets along well with other dogs, enjoys playing with them and with toys at times. He will also initiate play with his foster mom which is pretty adorable. He does great walking on a leash and rides well in a car.

Did I mention he was spoiled? Bo will need continued work with training, manners, and new experiences in life. He can get anxious and worried in new settings and will adapt best to a home that has a consistent routine. When he gets overstimulated either in excitement or a stressful situation, he may nip at your hands or feet. He is not biting, but just overexcited and mouthy so he is not a good fit for children. His foster mom is working on this behavior.

Because of his breed, his cute curly locks will need frequent brushings and grooming. Bichons also have excessive discharge and tear staining under the eyes, this will need to be cleaned frequently. Bo does okay with baths and grooming but will benefit from continued work to get him more comfortable and tolerant.

Overall he has done great with housetraining, especially with a routine. He will also use potty pads. Because Bo is not a fan of being confined, he gets the run of the house at night in his foster home. He is an early riser and can be whiny until the humans wake up.

Bo will do best in a home with no small children and not an apartment since he can be vocal. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm and fecal testing, heartworm and flea preventive and is microchipped. Are you the perfect companion for Bo to help him flourish into a confident pup? Bo’s adoption fee is $175.
