Zeke & Chessie Sue

This is Zeke and Melissa from Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue (SCMR) and Chessie with Michael and Fay. Zeke and his sister, Chessie Sue, were surrendered to SBRET from an owner who no longer wanted them. SBRET rushed to rescue them because they were being kept outside in the heat of summer and were in need of medical attention. SBRET had no available foster homes at the time so they contacted SCMR for help. A SBRET volunteer paid for Zeke and Chessie Sue's initial veterinary care (including vaccinations and medications for Chessie's skin condition and eyes). SCMR took over by getting follow-up veterinary care, grooming, and a much needed eye tumor removal surgery for Chessie Sue. This is an excellent example of how rescue groups often work together in the best interest of the dogs. We are so thankful that SCMR, Melissa, and other dedicated rescuers are there for the dogs - and are willing to work with other rescues - to save these precious babies. As a result of this teamwork, Zeke and Chessie Sue are now both in wonderful, loving homes! Now THAT'S a happy ending!
