Hello everyone, some of you may already know me and that my name is Celie and I am a 7 pound, 8 year old female Maltese who was rescued in the Warren County puppy mill bust a few months ago. Since then I was adopted, but SBRET came to my rescue once again. I was adopted by a wonderful family, but my Maltese brother did not like sharing his home. I am a passive little girl and would not defend myself when he got upset with me, so I came back to live with SBRET. My foster mom says I am somewhat of a star because have been in a few videos and on the news, but I am not letting all of that stardom go to my head. I am just thankful SBRET helped me out again. In case you have forgotten my original story, the people from ARC had to cut my hair to get me out of the rabbit hutch because my hair had grown around those horrible wires- I was so scared I couldn't even move! You have no idea how bad it was in that puppy mill. In my foster home things are going well. I trust people much more than I used to and I keep learning new things every day. My favorite things are of course treats for going potty out in the grass (boy, do I love chewing on the clover), my soft bed, great food, clean water and most of all the attention you get from the other small dogs and my foster family. I am trying to do things like the other dogs especially the activity called playing, but I haven't quite figured out what all of that running is about. I was trapped in such a small space for such a long time I never learned how. Something I have figured out is how to chew on my natural bones- they are great. My foster mom is so proud of me because I am doing well with my housetraining. I don't think I would win first place in the event, but I am improving each day - you just have to be patient with me. The thing I can't seem to get the hang of is how to tell her when I have to go out so a routine is best for me. What my foster mom is really surprised at is that I will walk on a leash and I do love attention! I do this dance for my foster mom and she seems to love it because she pets me even more. If you really want to see me dance offer me a treat and watch me go!!! I would prefer a forever home that has someone home most of the day to work with me and help me continue to adjust to living in a house. Other small dogs would be a plus if they want to share their home with me, but small children are kinda scary. If you think you have room in your heart and home please contact SBRET. My adoption fee is $175.00.
My home for 8 years was behind that red door in a rabbit hutch.
They had to cut my hair away from the chicken wire to rescue me. |
