It is all fun and games until somebody breaks a leg! Well I am not sure how much fun I was having but somehow I received a terrible injury to my leg and lots of bruising to my tummy and chest--my injuries were consistent with being hit by a car but we don't know exactly what happened. I was surrendered to SBRET after breaking the femur in my rear leg. My family was not able to afford the costs of repairing that injury and that made them very sad. Thank goodness SBRET has many kind supporters which makes it possible for them to say yes to little guys in trouble like me. Oops, I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Trey, and I am a male Yorkie, weigh about 7-8 pounds, and am about 4 years old. I had surgery to repair the break and am on 6 weeks of crate rest. The odd looking green thing in my picture below covers the device that holds all the pins in place that are currently holding my femur together while it heals. My bruising is getting much better too. I have had a bit of a hard life because when the vet took the xrays to look at my leg they discovered I had bird shot throughout my little body. My foster mom says I am as sweet as can be and she can't understand why anyone would do that to such a tiny little guy. I seem to love all the people I have met and enjoy the company of other small dogs. As soon as I am back on all fours I sure would love to have a forever home that will keep me safe and warm! If you think you might be that family please give my new buddies at SBRET a call--I will hopefully be ready for adoption sometime in April. Be sure to check back to see how I am getting along. My adoption fee will be $175.
