9/29/09 update available!

Hi, my name is Tinkerbell. I'm a 5 to 6 year old female Chihuahua, and I only weigh about 7 pounds. I've spent my entire life with lots of other dogs and having lots of puppies. I am one of the lucky ones though because the puppy mill owner decided to let me go to SBRET along with some other buddies.

I am a very shy girl and try to be brave enough to let my foster mother hold me. I went to my first adoption event and did pretty well - my foster mom was so proud! My foster brothers and sisters are so fun to play with, but it's the humans I am scared of.

I am very good at using my wee pads, but I'm not used to going outside yet. It might take me a while to learn some of these new things as I've only been in rescue for a little while. I really need someone to adopt me who is patient and will not scare me. For this reason, I would adapt better to a home with other furry friends and one without children.

So if you have some patience and love to spare, I just might be your little girl! My adoption fee is $175.

6/18/09 update: I have now learned how to let my foster mommy pick me up so she can cuddle with me on the bed. I really like cuddling now; it is wonderful to feel so loved. Sometimes I still cringe and make myself hold still so my foster mommy can pick me up. When she picks me up I give her lots and lots of doggie kisses and my tail can't stop wagging.

I have now been to quite a few adoption events and my foster mommy thinks that I have really improved in my social skills. I let lots of people hold me, pet me and even kiss me while my tail can't stop wagging. I am getting braver and braver everyday.

9/29/09 update:   Hello Again! Yep, I am still with my foster mommy and haven't been adopted yet.

Let me tell you about my improvements. I like to walk on a leash now, not fast but I will walk on a leash. I like to dress up, my foster mommy dresses me in pretty dresses and when we had our monsoon she put a nice pink raincoat on me. I go outside, not by myself but with a little help from my foster mommy.

Did you see my new pictures? Aren't I sweet looking? I look much better in person but these new pictures show what a lovely little girl I am. I am still shy but I have improved my skittishness just a little bit. My biggest wish would be to find a home soon that would have other dogs with someone who is understanding and patient with me.
