In Loving Memory

My name is Rusty and I am the most beautiful redhead you will every meet! I'll tell you a little about myself. I'm a 5 year old male long haired dachshund. SBRET was called to rescue me because I was given to someone that really did not have time for me, and they thought it would be best if I went to someone that would have plenty of time to spend with me. When I first got here I had some skin issues and my coat was not as pretty as it is now, but now that I have no fleas and am on good food. I'm doing great and my beautiful red hair is shiny and soft. I love my foster brothers and sisters, and play with all of them so I would do great with big or small dogs.

Oh the one thing my foster mom is bugging me to tell you is that I am doing great with housetraining, not one accident! She acts like this is a big deal - I guess she has not had many foster dogs as awesome as me. I will go in my crate while my foster parents are gone to work but love to sleep on one of the dog beds at night. Oh and I LOVE to go for car rides. I get very excited if we are going somewhere and will run around like a silly puppy until my foster mom takes me with her. Even if it's to the vet, I don't care as long as we are going somewhere. I walk great on a leash and even with my short little legs, I can walk for a long time sniffing all the new smells.

I'm a pretty easy going guy that would do fine in just about any type of home as long as there are no small children. Just remember that I am a dachshund and we are prone to put on weight if not exercised enough. So lots of walks or throwing the ball outside for me would be best so I don't get chubby. Dachshunds are also prone to back problems since we are so long but as long as I stay nice and lean I should be ok.

Contact my new best friends at SBRET if you are interested in adopting me. My adoption fee is $175.
