Hey there! I'm Rupert! I'm a male chihuahua/dachshund mix. I am 3.6 pounds of puppy goodness! My age is estimated to be around 8-10 weeks old. I was rescued from a not so nice home where I was hit a lot. Some people just don't know that you should never hit a puppy! My foster mom says I will never have to go through that again. Boy am I glad!
I am working on my house manners, including where I should and should not go potty and also what I should not chew on. My foster mom says I'm catching on very quickly. I am using puppy pads and also learning to go outside. Since I am still very young and learning my way in the world, I will need continued positive reinforcement to help me grow up to be a polite dog. I already walk very politely on my leash. I have been sleeping quietly in the human bed at night. My foster mom usually encourages foster dogs to sleep in their crates at night but seriously, could you look into my eyes and resist cuddling me? I don't think so! When I'm hungry, I go get my bowl and bring it to my foster mom. She says that either means I'm really smart or really bossy, whatever that means! I get along great with my foster brother and sisters. They are great fun to play with and nice to take a nap on too!
Since I am just a baby a home with someone there at least part of the day will be necessary so I can learn all the good things a puppy should and an adult home or one with older children since I am so tiny.
I have had my first set of puppy shots so I should be ready for my forever home in a couple of weeks, after I have been neutered. My adoptive family will need to complete my puppy shots as I get older to keep me from catching any nasty sicknesses. If you are looking for a happy puppy to hang out with, I just may be your boy!
