1/25/12 update: Check out my new pictures and my new video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z64UZQWLEIs

Hello! My name is Pepper aka DIVA, and yes I am supposed to be hairless. I am a female Xoloitzcuintle, but some people call me a Mexican hairless dog. We are unsure about my age, but I appear to be around 5 years old. My owner moved and I found myself at a local shelter and I was pretty worried. Luckily for me the nice people at SBRET took me in.

I am a very unique girl. Some might say I am a bit of a Diva, and they are right. I prefer to hang out with humans instead of other dogs. I like to be the center of attention and do not like to share things with other pets, so please only adopt me if I can be your only dog.

I love to cuddle up on the couch and follow my human around the house. I also LOVE to play fetch. I am already potty trained and will go to the door when I need to go out. I am crate trained and don't mind being in it when you go out. I will sleep in it too, but prefer to snuggle in your bed with you! I am a great watch dog, as I will bark if someone makes a noise outside, but I am quick to quiet when you tell me it is ok.

Since I am hairless I do have some special needs to keep my skin soft and kissable. When it is chilly I need to have clothes, and when it is sunny I will need sun screen on. My body temperature is warmer and you will love holding me on your lap in a cold day. I am a very sound sleeper and can be grumpy if you wake me too fast or grab me by suprise, so I would do best without children in the home.

If you have room in your life and lap for me contact my friends at SBRET. I would do best in a home without children or other dogs. I have already been spayed, microchipped, am heartworm negative, and up to date on my shots. If you think you might be interested in me check out http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/xoloitzcuintle.htm to read all about my unique breed. My adoption fee is $175.
