Hi! My name is Oreo. I am a 6 lb. male Chihuahua that is anywhere between 6 and 8 years old. I may be little but I sure am stuffed with personality! My foster mom says I am sweet AND adorable all at the same time! I lived in a home with several other Chihuahuas and came into rescue because I got picked on and subsequently had an injury that resulted in losing my eye. I have adjusted. It's no biggie, really. I get around just fine. I have no other health problems and will be getting my teeth cleaned so they will be pearly white for my new home. I am very friendly and quick to warm up to strangers. I only bark (and it's not much of a bark, I admit) if there is a dangerous situation, like the UPS man coming to the door, otherwise, I'm a quiet little boy. I love my foster mom and dad and will happily follow you around with a waggy tail. My most favorite activity of all is to be held. Someone said I would enjoy living in a purse! Ha! That might be a bit of an exaggeration but you get the idea. I love to lie with my other foster Chi, Manny. I'm use to other dogs and really enjoy their company. I would like to play but Manny doesn't want to. Do you have a little dog that would play with me? I go to the bathroom outside like a champ and can walk on a leash, too. Due to the situation I was raised in, I have a habit of occasionally marking in the house. In one week I have done remarkably well because my mom reminds me and since I'm so smart, I'm catching on quickly. Until I'm perfect, I wear a helpful "Belly Band" when Mom can't watch me. I will cry when left but it's only for a a little while until I calm down and go to sleep. At night, I will sleep in a crate but honestly, I am so good at sleeping under the covers right next to you that I don't know why I'm in a crate. For goodness sakes! I thought that's why people have Chihuahuas....to sleep with. My ideal home would have another gentle dog to lie with and an owner who knows about Chihuahuas. They would understand that I am overly protective of the one good eye I have left and don't mind letting you know about it. They wouldn't be surprised to know that I can't stand to get my feet wet and cold weather is torture! If you have fallen in love with me already, I'm sure you're not alone. So, put your application in quick before someone else scoops me up! My adoption fee is $175.
