Hello, my name is Onyx and I am a 2 year old male Pekingese. My story isn't as sad as some of
the other rescue dogs - I was never abused, not kept in a puppymill or dumped on the street.
But it is a bit sad for my previous owners because they had to give me up even though they
loved me very much. They were truck drivers and were always on the road which meant I had
to be boarded at the vet's office a lot which made them very sad. They did not think it was
fair for me to have to stay there for weeks at a time so they decided to give me up to SBRET
which was fine with me because as it turned out my new foster mom also works at the vet. She
was the one who cared for me while I was boarding so it was nice to see a familiar face when I came to SBRET.
My foster mom says I am the best little boy and can always make her laugh because I am so
silly. I love to play with toys and will play with any dog in the house that will play
with me. I am doing great with my housetraining since I have lived in a home before it was
not hard to learn the routine here. As you can see by my picture, I have a little problem with
my eye. My foster mom took me to an eye specialist and she did all these fancy tests on my eyes.
She says that I probably had an injury to my eye that has caused me to be blind in that eye.
But that's ok because I can see just fine out of the other eye.
I seem to get along with all types of people but do get underfoot so I would not do well
with an elderly person that might trip over me. If you are looking for a fun little guy to
