In Loving Memory

This is the summer of the motherless puppies for SBRET and we want you to follow their progress and send well wishes for both foster moms and babies! Of course, these babies take not only a lot of time but money too so if you would like to make a donation that would be just wonderful.

Please consider making a donation to help cover the cost of caring for these precious pups and giving them a wonderful new life. Donations in ANY amount are greatly needed and appreciated. We accept online donations via PayPal: . Donations by check can be sent to SBRET; P.O. Box 4661; Oak Ridge, TN 37831. Donations to SBRET, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, are tax deductible.

As of July 1 - Chihuahua babies are 3 weeks old and mother was unable to continue feeding them due to a calcium deficiency which sometimes occurs in nursing mothers particularly in toy breeds. Mom was about 7 or 8 pounds and Dad was only about 3 pounds so babies may be anywhere in that range. Dad was a long-haired Chihuahua and Mom was kind of in between so we will just have to wait and see how the babies turn out. We have 4 girls (the black ones) and 1 male (the cream colored one). None of these babies will be ready for adoption for at least 6 weeks but thought you might enjoy following their progress.

8/6/09 update: Dante, Jade, Lola and Izzy already have pending adoptions. Choopie now has her own rescue page with new pictures and more info.

8/13/09 update: Choopie's adoption is pending!

As of July 1 - Terrier/Yorkie/Poodles mix puppies are about 2 1/2 weeks old. Their mother died and unfortunately the puppies were left with her for a couple days and did have maggots when they came to us. There were 5 babies but one (little Alice) passed away and now we have 4 that are doing well but bottle feeding puppies who got a less than desirable start is always a tricky business. We will have to wait and see how they develop as we are not exactly sure what these little ones are going to look like but their foster mom thinks they are adorable! They will not be ready for adoption for about 7 weeks.

Rosalie, Jasper Edward and Emmett at 6 weeks old

Jasper at 6 weeks old

Jasper is 2.8 lbs. also and his hair is getting longer like Rosalie's. He has anger issues that we are working with. He has many alpha downs during the day and this is helping.

Rosalie at 6 weeks old Rosalie at 6 weeks old

Rosalie is 2.8 lbs. as of this morning. She is independent and sweet but can be bossy if allowed. Her brothers will gang up on her when they get tired of being told what to do. She seems to be the brightest of the pups as she is always first to figure things out.

Edward at 6 weeks old

Edward is also 2.8 lbs. I think he has the prettiest coat. It's rich and thick. "Teddy" is still the whiner. It's easier to cry and whine than to solve the problem but he is sweet.

Emmett at 6 weeks old

Emmett is our special pup. He looks the most like a Chiahauhua and is the runt. He weighs 2 lbs. His coat doesn't look healthy and he is the slowest to learn. It took him 3 days to learn to eat from the food bowl and would still have trouble staying on the nipple of the bottle. He is needy and very sweet and loving.
