I am not available for adoption yet or for applications until I complete my treatment and the vet evaluates my recovery. Hello everyone! My name is Mosaic and I need your help right away! A terrible thing happened to me on my way to my new home. I got lost from my family in Chattanooga and when I arrived at my first stop, the shelter, I got the bad news. My heartworm test came back positive! Now I'm having to take terrible, terrible heartworm medicine and not only is it no fun, it's very expensive too. My foster family is taking really good care of me, but Small Breed Rescue needs your help paying for my treatments. I'm just a little bit of a dog…in fact, that's what my foster family nicknamed me - "Little Bit". I only weighed 4.1 lbs. when I was rescued, but now I'm up to a whopping 4.3! I'm a super cute little female 6 year old Yorkie/Chihuahua mix, very well behaved, and extremely photogenic. I sleep in my own little bed, always go out to potty, and rarely bark. I'm kind of mostly black, with some brown highlights around my eyes and mouth. I like to run and play, but with my current predicament, I'm not allowed to. I absolutely adore people and love to sit in my Mommy's lap and wag my tail. I am not available for adoption yet or for applications until I complete my treatment and the vet evaluates my recovery. 2/14/12 update: Thank you to everyone who donated to Mosaic's heartworm treatment expenses--we now have it covered thanks to the generous SBRET supporters. Hopefully she will be listed as available in a couple months!
