In Loving Memory

4/5/10 update available!

All right--am I seriously cute or what? My name is Max and I am about 2 years old, weigh about 13 pounds, and am a male Lhasa Apso mix. You know being cute is great and all but my foster mom says the best thing of all about me is my personality. I am doing great on my housetraining, I love gentle children, I am a cuddler, and I love other dogs--wow I am pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Now all that being said, here is where you come in. I came into rescue with a luxating patella and a torn ACL and will be having surgery to repair both on Wednesday, February 17. I will need about 6 weeks of crate rest and then will be ready for my new home. But hey, please consider going ahead and submitting an application for me so that just as soon as I am back on all fours I can find my forever family. In the meantime I will be healing from surgery and getting lots of love in my foster home. My adoption fee will be $175.

2/26/10 update: Okay everyone--I had surgery on my leg and came through it really well. Now I am just having to hang out in my foster home being very calm with no running or jumping and with a lot of crate time. That stinks! But I will be up and playing again before you know it so please consider sending in an application so that just as soon as I am all healed up I can go to my new home. Thank you to everyone who has donated to my veterinary bill. SBRET would appreciate continued support so that we can say yes to the next little dog in need of extra care.

3/13/10 update: Max checking in here. I am progressing nicely after my surgery, and everyone is pleased with my recovery so far. I am so ready to be out of this crate! I have been stuck in a crate for about six months now and I am over it! What I would love more than anything is a home of my very own. I would like to have someone home at least part of the day and a doggie buddy would be nice. My foster mom says that since I have had such a crappy life up till now I deserve the best. She keeps talking about how sweet I am and how the home she is going to find me will be the perfect home. So I really would like to have a home where I don't have to be crated all day. If you think I am the wonderful guy for you just let my friends at SBRET know.

4/5/10 update: I just wanted to let everyone know that my adoption is pending and thank everyone for the donations to help with the cost of surgery to repair my luxating petella and torn ACL.
