2/7/10 update available!

My name is Loki - aren't I something? I'm about a one year old, black and tan Chihuahua boy. I have big giant ears; big beautiful brown eyes that will melt your heart and really long legs. My foster mom thinks I might have some Italian Greyhound in me, at least in the leg department. But who knows? Right now I weigh just 5 pounds.

If you look up the word "lap dog" in the dictionary I'm pretty sure you would see my picture. If you are ready to sit down be sure to look behind you first because I'm probably already there waiting for your lap. I follow my foster mom everywhere she goes, I just want to know what she if up to. I like to snuggle under the covers when mom is watching TV or sit in her lap when she is on the computer. I sleep in my crate at night and will be quiet after a few whines I mean minutes. I live with three Chihuahua's that are pretty active and I'm learning the ropes. I haven't lived with other dogs before. I would like a playmate that isn't too rough but I would be ok if it's just you and me. Because I'm so little big kids would be ok, if they are gentle, but no little ones please.

I'm pretty much housetrained. I have had one or two little accidents because my foster mom is still getting to know my signal. I like to go for walks and to ride in the car.Oh, I almost forgot I do have a very big bark for a little guy. I will let you know when someone comes to the door. I'm a little shy with new people and at first my foster dad scared me. I like my foster dad pretty good now. He is patient and gentle; he held me and talked to me until I learned that he really isn't that scary after all. Now I run to him when he calls my name and jump in his lap and roll over so he can rub my belly.

I'm looking forward to my forever home. Please contact my new SBRET pals if you're interested in adopting me. My adoption fee is $175.

2/7/10 update:   Hey Everyone! I just wanted to let you know how well I'm doing since coming to live with my foster family and an update on what they have learned about me. I'm a pretty laid-back little boy, and most times I'm in Mom's lap. For fun I'd rather wrestle with my furry brother than anything. I do love playing fetch with the tennis ball or one of my toys. And I have one favorite toy, my pookie. I like to snuggle with it when I take a nap. Mom really thinks it's pretty cute.

I haven't had an accident in the house for weeks. When I need to go outside I will find my foster mom and whine at her to get her attention or I go to the front door and scratch on it. Mom is very impressed with me and says her own dogs don't even do that. So maybe I can teach these old dogs a few new tricks. Speaking of tricks... I will sit when asked, I know how to lie down, and the other day I learned how to roll over. It was fun!

I've been sleeping very quietly in my crate at night in my mom's room. I would rather burrow under the covers and sleep in the big bed all night. Something I'm working on is that I can be growly when I meet new people, especially men. But I do love my foster dad. I just need to learn that people just aren't so bad. If you think you have the love and patience I need, please contact my good friends at SBRET. Love Loki.
