Hello! My name is Hootie. I am an older and wiser 9 year old Yorkie boy. I weigh about 9 lbs. My foster parents think I'm the sweetest little guy! I'm still wary of new people but I love my foster parents and want to be with them all the time. I've learned to jump or climb onto their lap where ever they are so I can snuggle and get my belly rubbed. Last week I decided to go all the way outside to our fenced in back yard. I loved it and now I enjoy going out every day. My foster mom tells me this will help with a thing called housetraining! My housetraining is coming along since I am living in a home with people who have taken the time to show me and have been very understanding along the way. My foster mom says I am making the connection very well! For now, I just love the attention and running with the other dogs in the backyard! I really am enjoying life and would love to be a part of your family. To sum it all up, I love the following: feeding time, bath time, play time with other dogs, snuggle time with my foster parents, and bed time. I need to be with an understanding family who will work with me on housetraining and socialization and show me lots of love and attention. I also require a fenced backyard. Other pets in the family should be fine and older children I can follow around and snuggle with would be wonderful as long as they are willing to be patient with me. I do have one eye that is cloudy and I probably do not see very well out of it--I am going to the eye specialist the first week of August and we will have an update at that time. Please contact my SBRET pals if you are interested in adopting me. My adoption fee is $100. 8/7/10 update: Well I had my appointment with the eye specialist, and she confirmed I cannot see much out of my right eye. It has a hypermature cataract which means there is not a fix for it. She says that eye is very stable and has low pressure so that is a good thing. I am seeing fine out of my left eye but it should be rechecked in about 4 months to make sure no changes are happening since we don't know my history. 9/4/10 update: Hootie checking in here guys. Check out my new pictures. Look at what great fun I have had this summer down on the dock going boating! I hope my forever family finds me soon because they sure are missing out on a lot of fun!
