Gail and Dixie

Gail and Dixie

5/22/09 update:

Good Morning!  It's Dixie here checking in - now that I have been in my home for a couple of weeks, I am really coming out of my shell and have so much to tell you! Since I left, I have done some fun stuff and met alot of neat people. I love my new home with Gail - she thinks I am the greatest! She even bought me a t-shirt so the world will know that I am the "Queen of Everything." I have gotten to meet most of my neighbors as well as a few potential playmates. There's a shih tzu and 2 Pom's and a cocker named PJ. I am still trying to understand that each new person is going to be nice to me, unlike those people I lived with before! So I quiver a little but hopefully that won't last forever. But at home I am very energetic. Mom calls me her "Little Jumpin' Bean."

I have also gotten to spend some time at my new sister's house. She has some big dogs but since I am fearless and they are nice, we are having a great time! They have taught me a bit more about pottying outside and about being a dog - I am really learning to play like a dog and it is soooo much fun! I am also learning about my leash (it's not so bad) and love to give kisses to EVERYONE! I can wear my rhinestones and be a diva at my house and then be a tomboy at Merrill's house - it's the best of both worlds!! Rowan (the mastiff) loves to play with me but she doesn't really understand my "poodle zoomies." She just stares at me when I get going.

I am also learning my way around the house. I really like the stairs - everytime I come inside, I run straight up to the top! The problem is that I haven't figured out how to come back down yet... so I get stuck up there. Luckily Mom comes and gets me. She has started using a baby gate so I don't do that and I don't think that's very nice. So I just sit on the bottom step and watch everything going on in the kitchen and wait for someone to move it. After awhile I join everyone else in the living room and I get to sleep on the couch while they watch TV.

I hope you enjoy my new pictures of me at Merrill's house. You can see some of my new friends too - the mastiff and the weims really like me and the pap-chi mix comes over too. At feedling time, I have my own place in the kitchen at home but at Merrill's, she lets me eat up high so that I don't get in the way of the big dogs.

Love, Dixie

I am fearless!
