Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee

I am the sweetest 4 1/2 month old female Chihuahua named China. I'm a little over 4 lbs. and such a dainty little girl. My foster mom thinks I am almost perfect because I'm so very nice, playful, and smart. I was surrendered because my family decided they did not have enough time for a puppy and came to a hard decision to let me go. I am enjoying exploring outside and having lots of time to play and exercise. I get along great with other dogs and love to be on a human's lap. I am also very affectionate--you see, I really am almost perfect!

I will potty outside or inside on paper if you are gone a while and can't get me outside in time. I do well in a crate but really don't want to spend a lot of time in one, unless it is at night.

Because I am always going to be pretty small, it is best that I am not adopted by a family with small children, but older children would be OK as long as they are always gentle with me. I also need someone home during the day or in and out a lot to continue working on my housetraining.

The family who rescued me told SBRET that I had a pretty rocky start so my coat will be a lot shinier and prettier after I have had more time to be on a good nutritious diet. My nice vet said that the little hair loss that I have around my eyes will all be corrected with good food and proper care (if you see a little booboo near my eye it is because the vet took a skin scraping to rule out any problems).
