Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee

I am the nicest male Chihuahua mix named Brutus. I am about 8 years old and weigh in at 12 lbs. I know, I know, it should really be about 10 lbs. but my foster mom has me on weight management dog food (and, alas, no table scraps) and I am looking and feeling a lot better since I've been rescued. I've already lost 3 lbs.

If I do say so myself, and as my Mom tells me often, I am perfect. I am very friendly to everyone, I like kids, I get along great with other dogs - what is not to love? I love going on walks, car rides, and I love napping in my crate. I'd like to sleep with you at night (under the covers, please) but I am used to sleeping in my cushy crate. When you sit down to read or watch TV, I want to be your chair buddy.

I am house trained and will go to the door to remind you that I need to go outside if you forget. Toys are great fun to play with and my favorite game is "pull toy". I could easily be a member of most any type of household as I am so easy to get along with. Giving me a bath is also a snap because I am so well behaved.

I have a teeny, tiny heart murmur which does not now need any medication and will hopefully improve as I lose my last two pounds of weight. My new family will need to agree to continue to help me loose a little more weight and keep me on a healthy weight food plan. I know I am an "older man" but, honestly, I am barely into my middle age as a little dog and I so deserve a forever home.
