Update on Bonnie (6/9/03): Bonnie is still much
loved and well taken care of. She also has a new roommate "Tonka" who
is a character - we just love him and so does Bonnie. They have bonded well
and really enjoy playing with each other.
Bonnie is a very special little Terrior mix dog. I often think
there can be devine intervention when it is needed and in this case
I believe it was. I had lost my beloved little Lasa Ahpso mix dog
"Tootsie" of 17 years in August. I mourned terribly for her and
couldn't imagine being alone during the day without my devoted
companion. Looking through the Critter
magazine and scouting out the internet for an adoptive pet, I thought
I would never decide. After I spotted Bonnie I felt sure I had
found the right match for me. I was right!!! Bonnie had obviously
had a rough former life and her foster parent said she definately
needed someone understanding. You see...Bonnie doesn't trust
strangers much...she is very, very timid and shy and can be quite
loud about it if strangers come to the house or if she feels
threatened. It took poor Bonnie about 3 months to warm up to my
husband...even though she sleeps on our bed....her domain. She
has come to love him, considering his big heart and amazing
patience....not many men would let a dog rule his bedroom. But
rule she does, and we love her in spite of her many quirks....and
sometimes rude behavior - we just deal with it. I am so glad
Bonnie found a home with us...we enjoy her and I can't imagine
why more people don't try to adopt more animals...they all need
homes and love.
