In Loving Memory

11/3/10 update available!

Hey! My name is Bogie (short for Bogart). I'm about a year and a half old black and tan Min Pin/Chihuahua mix, and about 6 pounds of fun. I was rescued from a bad situation, coming in with a pretty bad case of mange and also seriously malnourished. But now with several weeks of foster care under my belt, I'm back to the great looking dog Small Breed knew I could be.

I'm new to this whole "being in a home" thing, but adapting VERY well. I've got lots of energy, but go outside and do my business in the grass whenever my foster family takes me outside. Who knew there was somewhere special to go potty? You see, I probably spent most of my life in a c rate or a small run, so I'm still learning about being an "inside" doggie.

Even though I didn't exactly live the perfect life before rescue, I love people and other animals and should do fine with almost any type of family. Since I am so small older childeren and smaller dogs would be best! As I'm new to this whole housetraining thing, I will probably require some positive reinforcement in my new home. That being said, my foster family thinks I am a cutie and will adapt well.

If you think you'd love a handsome little leading man like myself, fill out an application for me! My adoption fee is $175.

11/3/10 update: Bogie here…in case you can't tell, my foster parents think I am the sweetest, most playful dog they've ever met. The neighbors and their children have fallen in love with me. I'm so beautiful…my coat is so shiny you can almost see your reflection. I absolutely love people and simply adore my hedgehog! Yes, I love my toys, particularly my “Hedgie” who gets thrown around when I play and squeaks at me if I grab him just right. When I'm really full of energy, I run laps in the house too. What fun! I'm still a small guy (6-7 pounds), so catch me if you can! I'm happiest when I'm with my foster parents and have my favorite Nylabone to chew.

I am potty trained much to everyone's amazement considering where I came from. I love going outside and going to the park to walk. There's so much to see! At night I snuggle with my foster parents and sleep like a baby. I'm a good eater when I get up, but then I'm ready for my nap. I would love a forever home where I can run and play with other dogs and snuggle with my people. I'm a bit frisky for smaller children, but would do well with older children who take time to love me.
