Please join us at the Hardin Valley Animal Hospital Spring Adoption Event on Saturday, May 10 from 1 to 4 pm. Many other rescue groups will be participating also. Mark your calendar to come by the Hardin Valley Animal Hospital (HVAH) to visit with our rescue dogs, enjoy complimentary snacks provided by "The Hot Bagel" of Oak Ridge, TN, and watch "Field Dog" demonstrations. HVAH plans to have pet photography available also.
Please join us at Agri-Feed Pet Supply (located at 5716 Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville, TN) for our upcoming adopt-a-thon on Saturday, May 17, from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm . If you plan to attend this event and would like to see a particular dog, please let us know in advance since we don't always take every dog to every event.

Please join us at Critter Fest at Pearson Springs Park on Sunday, June 1 from 11 am - 5 pm. The event is sponsored by Blount County Humane Society. There will be games for the dogs, all kinds of vendors, crafts, consessions, t-shirts, face painting, gourmet dog treats, pet micro-chipping, silents auctions, fun, food, and critters. If you plan to attend this event and would like to see a particular SBRET dog, please let us know in advance since we don't always take every dog to every event.
Please join us for the PetSafe Village Customer Appreciation Day and Rescue Fair on Saturday, June 7 from Noon to 5 pm. PetSafe Village is celebrating their 5th Anniversary by thowing a party and everyone is invited! Join us for food, drinks, a dunking booth, inflatable play area, PetSafe Village Tours, play in the PetSafe Dog Park, and vendors and rescue groups from East Tennessee!!
Please join us at the Callahan Drive Animal Hospital open house on Saturday, June 14th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be contests & drawings, photography, caricature drawings, and food while it lasts. The clinic will be open to tour, an on site massage therapist will be available, and a photographer will be set up in the garage!

WHO: past adopters and their petsRefreshments will be served for people and pets. We will have door prizes, "Ask-a-Vet" corner, a pet behaviorist, and other activities. Thanks for joinong us at the grand opening of the Lovell Road Animal Hospital on Saturday, May 3 from 1 - 4 pm. Lovell Animal Hospital is located at 1305 Lovell Road, just off Pellissippi Parkway near Yarnell Road.
The hospital, operated by veterinarian Dr. Sherri Mellskog, offers the following services to dogs, cats, guinea pigs, ferrets and rabbits: routine health examinations, vaccinations, in-house diagnostics, ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental services, grooming, spay/neuter services, behavior consultations and diet/nutrition counseling.
House calls are also made on a limited basis. For more information, call 865-777-1221.

The Second Annual SBRET Garage Sale was a great success. April 19, 2008 started a little rainy, but we still had lots of shoppers. They had plenty to chose from since this year's sale was HUGE with lots of families donating items. Proceeds from the sale will go for vet bills for the many fragile puppymill dogs we've rescued recently. They required lots of medical care, TLC and time to heal before being ready to go to their forever homes. We are thrilled that all left over items were donated to another rescue group that is planning a garage sale in a few weeks.

On Saturday, March 15, 2008 SBRET provided pet parenting tips at the monthly Pet Parenting class at Young Williams Animal Center. We would like to thank all those who attended the event and especially YWAC for giving us the opportunity to share information about small breeds.
Topics covered included pet obesity, crate training, house training and how to choose the best pet to fit in with for your lifestyle and current pets.
Binky and Pansy were our official people greeters and both thoroughly enjoyed all the attention they received during the class. Although this was not the usual pet-filled event, we do have a few pictures from the event.

In January the Monroe County Animal Shelter took in 100 dogs from a single location where dogs were not cared for properly and allowed to multiply making the situation even worse. The dogs were placed with rescue groups and adopted from the shelter. SBRET supported the shelter by taking 4 dogs and collecting some much needed supplies to help care for all the extra dogs.
