In Loving Memory

On 4/23/09, SBRET took in 12 small neglected Poodles who were removed from a home where they were not being cared for and taken to a rural shelter. These precious dogs are currently undergoing medical evaluation and treatment along with some major grooming. Although they won't be ready to go to their new homes for a while, you can still submit an application if you're interested in adopting one of them. Check this page often to follow the progress of Blondie, Buffy, Darlin, Dixie, Kiki, Lulu, Mango, Marley, Raisin, Romeo, Tippy and Zoey. We need your help with donations to put toward their care as well as foster homes for these babies.

Please consider making a donation to help cover the cost of caring for these precious dogs and giving them a wonderful new life. Donations in ANY amount are greatly needed and appreciated. We accept online donations via PayPal: . Donations by check can be sent to SBRET; P.O. Box 4661; Oak Ridge, TN 37831. Donations to SBRET, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, are tax deductible.

My name is Blondie because under all this dirt I am going to be a lovely blonde, cream color. I am about 5 years old and weigh about 4 pounds. I look awfully sad right now don't I? You would too if you were carrying around all these painful matts. I am pretty shy but I think I will come around quickly as soon as I am feeling better.

5/2/09 update: This is the hair that came off just Blondie's face. Blondie is going to feel so much better and is settled into her new foster home now. New pictures will be available soon.

5/6/09 update: Blondie is learning all about living in a home and she is slowly starting to explore around a bit. Blondie is a very shy little girl and will need a bit more time to come out of her shell. She is very sweet.

6/13/09 update: Blondie's adoption is final. Check me out the picture of me and my new family.

My name is Buffy and I am the biggest little Poodle girl of the crew weighing in at 11 pounds. I am about 3 years old, super friendly, and will be a gorgeous cream color. I also have a very endearing bit of an underbite. I will make someone a wonderful companion as I want everyone I meet to pick me up.

5/3/09 update: Buffy is doing great! She is learning so quickly. She walks on a leash with some encouragement and she has already used the pee pad several times! She is very social and wants love and attention from anyone who is willing to give it. She is going to make the perfect little lap dog.

5/14/09 update: Check out Buffy's individual page with lots more information about her and new pictures!

5/30/09 update: My adoption is pending! Check back soon for a picture of me with my new family.

6/10/09 update: Check out the picture of me with my new family.

My name is Darlin and I am an apricot female Poodle about 4 years old and weigh about 5 pounds. I am a pretty friendly little girl and will be feeling oh so much better really soon.

4/30/09 update: Little Darlin is such a tiny little thing. She LOVES her blanket and pillow. She also likes to be held. She is starting to follow her foster mom around and loves to be talked to.

5/6/09 update: Darlin is a precious tiny poodle baby who loves to be held. She is possessive of her person and growls at the other dogs because she does not know she is only 4 pounds. Therefore she should be the only doggie in her new home. She is very playful and feisty. She did not have a good start in life and now is ready to make up for lost time. If you are looking for a little princess to love and spoil then Darlin is waiting for you.

5/10/09 update: Check out Darlin's individual page with lots more information about her and new pictures!

5/19/09 update: I have wonderful news - my adoption is final! Check the website again soon for a picture of me with my new family.

My name is Dixie and I am about 3 years old and weigh about 7.2 pounds. I am another one of the Poodle girls! I am going to be a very pretty Apricot color when I get cleaned up. I am pretty friendly and am hoping you will follow my story.

5/2/09 update: Dixie here - can you believe that is what was under all that mess? I am a tiny little girl and am going to my foster home on Monday (5/4/09) and I can't wait!

5/6/09 update: Well doesn't look like I am living the good life? Things sure are wonderful here in my new foster home. I am learning all about comfy beds, toys, and kind people. My foster mom just thinks I am a sweetheart.

5/19/09 update: I have wonderful news - my adoption is final! Check out the picture of me with my new mom.

5/22/09 update: I love my new home and just wanted to check in to let you know how I'm doing and to introduce you to some of my new friends. Click here for more info and new pictures.

My name is Kiki and I am just a real sweetheart. I am a female white Poodle about 6 years old and weigh about 9 pounds. I am loving being free of all those matts and am looking forward to having a home of my own.

5/3/09 update: This is pretty little Kiki after a trip to see Miss Sherma at Bark Place. Kiki is settling in to a routine at her foster home but will need lots of patience and time to get the hang of everything. She seems to love all of her new dog buddies and people too.

5/10/09 update: Check out Kiki's individual page with lots more information about her and new pictures!

My name is Lulu and yep I am another female Poodle weighing in at about 7 pounds and am about 3 years old. I am gray and white and am being pretty friendly with everyone I meet. I am a very pretty little girl.

5/2/09 update: Lulu says things are looking up! I am getting settled into my new foster home and I even snuck a kiss in on my brand new foster mom. Please keep coming back to see how I am doing. Aren't I a cutie?

5/28/09 update: Check out Lulu's individual page with lots more information about her and new pictures!

8/3/09 update: My adoption is final! Check out my success page.

My name is Mango and I am about 2 years old and am a female Apricot Poodle and weigh about 6 pounds. I seem to be a very happy girl and will be much happier when all my nasty fur is gone and I can be pain free--you see matts that are this bad are very painful. I am looking forward to my new life.

5/2/09 update: Well as you can see there is a lot less of me! Boy doesn't that feel good to get all of that nasty hair off. I will be getting into my new foster home today and I know that is going to be fun. Come back and see how I am getting along!

5/14/09 update: Mango has been adopted and is now called Lucy by her new family!

My name is Marley and yes underneath all of this I am a little female apricot Poodle about 4 years old and weigh about 4 pounds. Life has not been good to me so far and I am looking forward to starting afresh!

5/2/09 update: Marley is feeling so much better after having all the matts shaved away. She is going to be settled into her new foster home today. Watch for Marley updates.

5/6/09 update: Marley is doing great. She loves to snuggle and sleeps on the bed with her new foster mom and dad and 2 other dogs and usually I cat! She is doing so well with her potty training. If you take her outside, she does her business quickly. Inside she has only had 2 accidents and she missed the pee pee pad by a few inches and her foster dad didn’t take her out or to her pad in a timely manner. She loves to walk outside. She tolerates the leash at times, but balks every now and then. She still is learning about edges and steps, but it will come. She prefers women, but we are working with men quite a bit.

5/23/09 update: Marley's adoption is pending! Check back later for a picture of Marley with her new family.

5/30/09 update: My adoption is final! Check back soon for a picture of me with my new family.

6/6/09 update: Check out the picture of me with my new mom. She changed my name to Isabelle, but calls me Izzy most of the time. Hey, she can call me whatever she wants because I'm spoiled rotten!

My name is Raisin and I am about 2 years old and weigh about 5-1/2 pounds. I am a very pretty chocolate color--only my SBRET friends would be able to call me pretty right now. I'm covered with giant matts right now! I am going to be a real show stopper when I have a chance to be taken care of! I am a very friendly little girl.

5/7/09 update: Well my foster mom says she is totally in love with me and that I follow her around everywhere she goes. She even says I am picking up on my housetraining very quickly and do crazy little poodles dashes through the house. She has given me a new name and has started calling me Tiki. I think it is pretty wonderful here!

5/23/09 update: Raisin's adoption is pending! Check back later for a picture of Raisin with her new family.

5/30/09 update: Raisin's adoption is final! Check back later for a picture of Raisin with her new family.

Hi, my name is Romeo and I am the only little boy in the Poodle Posse. I am about 2 years old and weigh about 6 pounds but am underweight so hopefully will be putting on a pound or two over the next few weeks. I am going to be a lovely apricot color as my coat recovers. I seem very friendly and want to be loved.

4/30/09 update: Well I certainly am living up to my name because my foster family has totally fallen in love with me. I am being a very polite little boy and am learning all about living in a family. Now, if I can just put on a few pounds! Stay tuned for more Romeo updates.

6/13/09 update: I have my own page now! Be sure to check out my new pictures and my updated information.

8/12/09 update: My adoption is pending!

My name is Tippy and I am a female Poodle about 2 years old and weigh 7 pounds. I am white with little gray ears and will be a beautiful companion for a lucky family.

5/2/09 update: Lucky little Tippy is getting to enjoy a beautiful spring day in her new foster home--doesn't she look happy? Please check back for more Tippy updates.

5/6/09 update: Tippy who is now answering to "Bridget" and is really enjoying life in her new foster home. She is adjusting surprisingly well. She enjoys going on nightly walks and snuggling with her human friends.

5/30/09 update: My adoption is final! Check out the picture of me with my new family.

My name is Zoey and I am a black female Poodle about 2 years old and weighing in at about 5 pounds. I am pretty shy and part of that may be because I have a rear leg that is not working very well and will probably require surgery. There will be an update after my vet figures out what is going on and what needs to be done. I will be a cutie for sure.

5/3/09 update: Isn't Zoey a little doll baby. She and Kiki had a visit with Miss Sherma at Bark Place so that is why she looks so lovely! Zoey is pretty skittish and scared but wants attention although she is still not too sure about. She is headed off to the vet tomorrow (5/4/09) to have luxating patella surgery on a rear leg and to have a growth removed that is between her eyes. Please keep her in your thoughts and check back often.

5/6/09 update: Zoey checking in here. Well I am not too happy to be hanging out with a cone on my head but that is what my doctor says has to happen right now. I had my knee operated on by Dr. Will at Anderson County Animal Hospital on Monday, May 4, and he said I should heal up really nicely and be ready for my new home sometime in June. I also had a cyst removed from between my eyes and on my side and they should heal up just fine too. Don't forget about me as I will be looking for my new family in June!

5/30/09 update: My adoption is pending! Check back soon for a picture of me with my new family.

6/26/09 update: Check out the picture of me with my family!
